Wiring A House

The industry standard.

I'm sorry to say that the Cobra hole puncher gear reduction unit that I use and featured in the book is no longer made. And thats' a shame because it is such a good little tool. So don't go trying to find it on the net.

In chapter "Wiring Room by Room" of the new edition you will see a fast, low-cost method ($40) of finding the ceiling center. I had already found an expensive way of doing it ($220) and was going to put that in the book before I found the Lazerspot. To find ceiling center, you locate floor center using two strings (corner to corner) and put a laser at that spot shooting a beam straight up. Practical applications are trying to locate dead center over a bed for a paddle fan or light, when the dining room light has to be centered over the dining room table, when any room light or fan has to be centered in the room and when a light on one wall has to be at the same exact spot on the opposite wall. You can find it at www.lazerspot.com.
